FAQ

Does the clip come with a credit card holder?

Yes! All of our clips come with a credit card holder. Our metal clips (Talladega, Daytona, Sonoma) all come with our ballistic nylon credit card holder. The carbon fiber clips (Sebring, Le Mans) come with our sport leather credit card holder.

The ID credit card holder that we sell separately is just a different style than what is included with our clips and, if ordered, is intended to replace the credit card holder that is included with your clip.

What is RFID and why does it matter?

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the use of a wireless non-contact system that uses radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data from a tag attached to an object (i.e. credit card, passport, identification badge), for the purposes of automatic identification and tracking. The tag contains electronically stored information which can be read from up to several meters away without ever physically touching or seeing the card.  Your RFID enabled credit card emits a radio signal that basically transmits all the credit card information including name, credit card number and expiration date.  A credit card skimmer can be built for less than $100, and the thief would only need to be in your general proximity to steal your information without you knowing any better.

What is carbon fiber?

Carbon fiber is a material composed of fibers made mostly of carbon atoms. The properties of carbon fibers, such as high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion, make them very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, and motorsports, along with other competition sports. They are relatively expensive when compared to similar fibers, such as glass fibers or plastic fibers but many times more durable.

What is Snap Back technology?

Our proprietary SnapBack technology is what makes our Daytona and Talladega money clips so unique and durable.  We heat the steel to a specific temperature for a set amount of time.  Treat the metal too much and it will become brittle and break, too little and it will stretch out.  SnapBack technology allows the clips to literally snap back and retain their shape and functionality no matter how many times they are used.

What is the difference between the clips?

All of our clips function the same and hold the same amount of credit cards and bills. The difference between the styles is in their size and the material they are made from. The Le Mans and Sebring clips are made from RFID-blocking carbon fiber, the Le Mans is two inches wide and the Sebring is one inch wide. The Sonoma and Talladega are made from carbon steel, with the Sonoma being two inches wide and the Talladega one inch wide. The Daytona is stainless steel and one inch wide.

What is the capacity of the ZCLIP?

The ZCLIP can hold up to 8 cards and 20 bills.  While the Zclip money clip may hold more, we do not recommend placing more than this capacity.

Is the ZCLIP 100% effective against RFID scanners?

Carbon fiber has been proven to block the RFID scanners from penetrating and skimming information from credit cards and anything else with an RFID chip in it. However no product can claim to be 100% effective.

Are all ZCLIPs RFID blocking?

Our Le Mans and Sebring clips are our only clips that are RFID blocking. It is the carbon fiber that these two clips are made from that blocks out RFID scanners. The Le Mans clip is wider than the Sebring, so it offers the most protection. Our metal clips (Talladega, Daytona, Sonoma) do not offer RFID protection.

Who is required to pay sales tax?
